Darwen is delighted to announce the signing of 36 year old Indian batter and right arm off spin bowler Punit Bisht as professional for the 2023 season.

 

Punit averages 38.44 in First-class matches in India with nine centuries and 22 half centuries in his 137 innings as well as averaging 40.80 in List A games with six centuries and 15 half centuries from 80 innings.

 

Punit stood in as sub professional for Darwen once last season scoring a magnificent 159 at Greenmount in the game which helped the club win the Lancashire League title for the first time.

 

Punit played for Garstang in the Northern Premier League last season scoring 1248 runs at an average of 56.73 Including three centuries and seven half centuries in 28 innings as well as taking 22 wickets.

 

He also played for Garstang in 2019 scoring 1228 runs at an average of 51.17 including five centuries and five half centuries in 28 innings as well as taking 18 wickets.
