England captain Michael Vaughan may stage a comeback in the one-day international series against Sri Lanka, it was revealed on Sunday. England coach Duncan Fletcher said Vaughan has been recovering from a long-term knee injury and may feature in the ODI team any time.

It had been expected England would call-up a replacement for batsman Ed Joyce after he injured an ankle in Thursdays Twenty20 defeat against Sri Lanka at the Rose Bowl. But Fletcher confirmed that nobody would be drafted in, leaving the way clear for Vaughan to return during the five-match series with the Sri Lankans. Fletcher said: Were constantly in touch with Michael and I'll be ringing him again in the next day or so just as I rang him two days ago.LATEST SCORES
