England skipper Michael Vaughan suffered yet another injury problem when he experienced a hamstring twinge during his county engagement for Yorkshire on Thursday. The 31-year-old did not return to the field after lunch in the county championship match against Sussex at Arundel due to hamstring pain. He has not played an international match since the tour of Pakistan before Christmas due to a knee problem and only returned to cricket with Yorkshire a month ago.
Meanwhile, chairman of selectors David Graveney said Vaughan would not be rushed back to action despite England being 0-2 down in the ongoing five-match one-day series against Sri Lanka. "There's no point Vaughan playing for England if he's not fit," Graveney said.
