The Indian selectors once again ignored Sourav Ganguly when they picked a 14-member squad for the forthcoming Champions Trophy. Ganguly had been in the probables list of 30 players.

 

Leg spinner Anil Kumble and Pace bowler S. Sreesanth were also left out of the squad for the premier one-day tournament to be played in India from October 7 to November 5.

 

Meanwhile, the selectors retained the team that recently visited Sri Lanka for the tri-series against Australia and the West Indies in Malaysia from September 12 to 24.

 

The 14-member squad for the Champions Trophy: Rahul Dravid (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Mohd Kaif, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Mongia, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Rudra Pratap Singh, Ajit Agarkar, Munaf Patel, Harbhajan Singh and Ramesh Powar.
