Abdul Razzaq sustained a knee injury during training on the last day of the training camp for the ICC World Cup 2007 on February 26, 2007 at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Initial assessment of the injury revealed partial ligament tear and bone bruising and Abdul Razzaqs knee was subsequently put in plaster for three weeks after which the injury would be reassessed. 
The injury has meant that Abdul Razzaq would not be able to participate in the ICC World Cup 2007. The National Selection Committee has decided that Azhar Mahmood would be Abdul Razzaqs replacement.
