The inaugural Inter-Region Under-15 One Day Tournament, organized by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), concluded today. The tournament was won by Sialkot Region which beat Multan Region in the final at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. 
The tournament was a follow-up to the Under-15 Talent Hunt Program also conducted by PCB for the first time to unearth cricketing talent at the grassroots level. The Talent Hunt and tournament is in line with Chairman PCB's vision to develop youth cricket in the country and both were conducted under the umbrella of National Cricket Academy as part of a year-round schedule for hunting, grooming and retaining natural cricket talent. 
The Talent Hunt Scheme was carried out in 11 Regions and 5 other areas (Azad Kashmir, FATA, Turbat, Southern Punjab and Interior Sind). Coaches and Selectors went to every selected Region and area for a three-day talent selection process and an additional 12 days coaching camp to discover and train new talent. 
12 teams had been divided into three pools for the Inter Region Under-15 One Day Tournament 2006-2007. The top teams from each group competed in the triangular stage, which was followed by the final between the best two teams from the triangular stage. All triangular stage matches were played in colored clothing provided by PCB and with white balls. For all matches, a post-match ceremony was held in which a local Test Cricketer/Regional Cricket Association Representative was invited as a Guest of Honour to distribute prizes. 
Individual Man-of-the-Match awards of Rs 2,000/- each were presented after each Preliminary Round match and Man-of-the-Match prizes of Rs 3,000/- each were handed out after the Triangular Stage matches. In addition, the following individual and team awards were presented after the final: 
Individual Awards: i. Man of the Match (Final) - Raza Hassan (Sialkot) - Rs. 5,000/-ii. Best Batsman - Abdur Rauf (Sialkot) - 288 runs - Rs. 10,000/-
iii. Best Bowler - Ali Abid (Multan) - 15 wickets - Rs. 10,000/-
iv. Best Wicketkeeper - Adil Junaid (Sialkot) - 12 victims - Rs. 10,000/-
v. Best Fielder - Ahad Raza (Multan) - 5 catches - Rs. 10,000/-
 
Team Awards: i. Tournament Winner - Sialkot Region - Rs. 50,000/-ii. Runner-up - Multan Region - Rs. 30,000/-
 
PCB Advisor Grassroots Cricket Mr Javed Zaman Khan was Chief Guest for the final.
