Bangladesh lost paceman Tapash Baisya for the remainder of the World Cup on Thursday because of an ankle injury which will take six weeks to heal, an official said Thursday.

"Baisya suffered an ankle injury in the match against Australia and we initially though he would be fit for the South Africa match, but on further scans it was revealed that Baisya would need six to eight weeks to get fully fit," Bangladesh media manager Rabeed Imam told reporters.
"We have called for a replacement which is all-rounder Farhad Reza who will arrive in Barbados on April 8," said Imam.
Baisya, 24, took five wickets in the World Cup at a high of 80 runs apiece.
Bangladesh, who take on South Africa in the Super Eights here on Saturday, were a surprise qualifier for the second round after beating former champions India.
