Player: | KA Pollard |
DateLine: 18th June 2008
As a right-handed allrounder, he bats in the middle order and bowls useful medium-pace. He represented West Indies in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup and came to the fore when he smashed 83 for Trinidad and Tobago in the Stanford 20/20 in August 2006, and then underlined that potential with 126 on his first-class debut later that season. He took only 71 balls for his maiden ton and laced it with six sixes, including one of them as his first scoring stroke. Nine days later, he was on a real high as he was named in the squad for the World Cup but he failed to make an impression in his international outings. Domestically though, he continued to flourish and only in his third first-class game he scored a second hundred, again including six sixes. He is a real prospect for the future West Indies team.
