| Scorecard: | Ramsbottom v East Lancashire |
DateLine: 6th July 2008
Ramsbottom were foiled by heavy thunderstorms over Acre Bottom on Sunday, after restricting visitors East Lancashire to 99 for 5 in 34.2 overs and will replay the match on Saturday 6th September.

Sub pro Ryan Bailey was the danger to Ramsbottom after Simon Read won another toss with my coin, and this time chose to field. His dismissal for 46 bowled by the skipper himself, gave the home team a good advantage. Read also took the wicket of Sid Patel, with Babar Naeem back on sub pro duty for Ramsbottom after Harwood's injury at Todmorden having Dan Pearson superbly caught by Martin Cropper.
With dark clouds looming over this hills it wasn't long before the umpires led the players scurrying of the field. The Ramsbottom players and groundsmen worked unstintingly to clear the water, but having achieved this another thunder storm came over and the match was abandoned to another day.(Article: The opinions expressed in this article are those of the author only.
