As rains came pelting down Viru and Gambhir congratulated each other as India finished with 68 for no loss at the end of the second day in reply to Australia's score of 426.Michael Hussey scored a brilliant hundred to put Australia on top.Going into the third day the match is interestingly poised,remains to be seen which team takes the ascendancy
Sehwag the key
The way Sehwag started the proceedings for India one just gets the feeling that he holds the key to India getting the first innings lead.If he plays the whole day tomorrow India can get ahead of Australia since he scores his runs so quickly.His partner Gambhir should give him good company and so should the famed middle order.If the whole team can play around him India can get itself into a strong position going into the fourth day.
Hussey at his best.
Hussey was at his brilliant best as he got his ninth test hundred .Nudging and pushing for singles and twos India played right into his hands by setting defensive fields.Brad Haddin and Brett Lee supported him brilliantly as he was involved in half century partnerships with them to take Australia past 400.Australia has always won whenever he has scored a hundred
Zaheer and Ishant strike
The pace combination of Zaheer and Ishant counted for 9 Australian wickets as they bowled their heart out on the flat deck .Ishanth got Watson early cleaned him up.He foxed Brad Haddin with a slower ball and also Cameron white.Zaheer cleaned up the tail with reverse swing and picked up 5 wickets.
Spinners disappoint
Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh disappointed as they bowled 84 overs together for just 1 wicket.One just got the feeling that Anil is still struggling with his shoulder and it wasn't easy for him bowling on the first two days on this flat wicket.Harbhajan, one just got the feeling didn't try enough variations by going round the wicket to Michael Hussey.With the ball sure to turn on the fourth day they should fare better in the second innings in case India bats well in the first innings.
