England chasing 223 in 50 overs to win their second tour game England were bundled out for 98 in 25 overs to lose the match by 124 runs. The England team were never in the hunt as they lost wickets at regular intervals. At one point of time they were 64 for 9 before a 34 run last wicket stand between Graeme Swann and Anderson saved them the blushes. They were the only 2 batsmen to get past 20.

It was a complete collapse at the Brabourne stadium as Waingankar ripped through the England top order taking the wickets of Bell, Pieterson, Patel, Bopara and Wright were his victims. None of them except Patel entered double digits. Flintoff and Collingwood were also dismissed cheaply. It wasn't the greatest of preparation that they would have hoped for going into the first odi at Rajkot on 14th.

Earlier in the day Ryan Sidebottom and Stuart Broad were ruled out due to injuries. For the Mumbai Cricket Assocation, Marathe top scored with 65 and others chipped in as well to get the total to 222 for 7 in 50 overs. The total at the end of the day was too good for the visitors as they collapsed to 98 all out giving a victory margin of 124 runs to the home team.
