Event:New Zealand in Australia 2008/09

DateLine: 27th November 2008

Its Mathew Hayden's hundredth test match as Aussies take on Kiwis at Adelaide in the second test match. They are already leading the series 1-0 But lot of things are going through their mind whether it is Symonds brawl or Champions league which has to take place in India. Because of the terror attacks in Mumbai most players including Hayden himself have reservations of playing in the Champions league. With lot of things in their mind immediately after the test match, they would want to shut their mind off and focus just on the game.

New Zealand on the other hand have no such problems as they have no player in the Champions League as Oram is suffering from back injury. Vettori is planning to play Jeetan Patel as the Adelaide track might take spin. With New Zealand team having had their moments in the first test will want to lift their game so as to push Australia on a turning track.

Ponting on the other hand would want more runs from the batsman so that the win can be more easy.He himself along with Hayden would want to get runs as both of them were struggling in the first test. Brett lee would also want to be among wickets as he has not taken much since the Indian tour.

New Zealand will have to win this test match otherwise they will slip to number 8 in the test rankings behind West Indies. On the other hand for Australia Symonds will be closely watched after the brawl in Brisbane.
