Asad Rauf will miss first Test in Chennai Umpire Asad Rauf will miss the first test in Chennai between India and England due to visa problems. He is unable to officiate the test match because of lack of a city specific visa. Pakistani and Indian nationals require city-specific visas to each other's countries. Rauf had a valid visa for Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore. The first two were for the tests and the third for a Champions League he was to officiate.

But because of the terror attacks in Mumbai the venues were shifted to Chennai and Mohali for which Rauf had to get Visas again. Since the Indian High Commission is shut for the next five days because of weekend and Eid holidays.

So he will be unable to get visas in time for the first time. But there is still time for the second test and Asad Rauf hopes to be there in time for Mohali. The BCCI has given instructions to the High Commission to provide the right visa as soon as the application is made. The ICC has not yet made an official announcement on the replacement for Rauf for the first test.
