Biography: | Gained rank of officer in the 4th Scottish Rifles - fought in the Boer War 1900-01 where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded. Gained the rank of officer in the 1st Battalion, Munster Fusiliers. Gained rank of officer in the 21st Lancers. Fought in WW1 where he was mentioned in despatches 3 times. Awarded the DSO in 1916. Awarded the MC in 1917. Fought in WW2, on staff. Appointed MBE in 1946. |
