Match notes
With the recent rains the outfield was quite heavy and Queensland found runs hard to come by. With rain washing out any chance of play on the second day play was quickly re-arranged to the scheduled rest day on 4th January. Victoria took a first innings lead with only three wickets down but lost their last seven wickets for the addition of 16 runs. By winning this match Victoria Country won the Heinz Cup.
