Match notes
Queensland did not make a good start with three out at thirty and the fourth wicket falling before one hundred had been reached. Geoff Paulsen played a steady innings and received good support from the lower middle order and Queensland was able to bat out the day. Once again the total was considered quite achievable and Victoria, despite a not very good start seemed well placed as Divin joined Patrick in a stand producing 129 runs. After Divin left wickets fell regularly and it was left to the tail to put up a challenge that eventually failed.
