Scunthorpe Town won the toss and decided to bowl on a slightly damp wicket that was moving around earlier doors. Dave Jones and Gary Smith set a good platform for a opening stand of 63 which then led the way for a NEW fourth division 3rd wicket stand of 186 beating the previous 2003 record of 161. Joe wiley smashed his way to 106 not out whilst superably supported by jake parker's 74 nout out. In reply, Scunthorpe lost early wickets but put up a fight in the middle order with a good knock by J. Hernon who managed 85 and supported well by young R.Franklin's 36. There was some good bowling efforts by Tom Brock and Shaun Clark who both picked up 4 wickets a piece. Both umpires gave ground marks of 9. Broughton FOM was K.Kitchen and Scunthorpe FOM was A.Rampaul. Umpire score marks were 9 for both umpires from both sides.
