There was some dispute in the United States of America second innings when Wilby walked after thinking he was out and his wicket was thrown down by Phillips - and rather than any unpleasant feeling was had between the players he was allowed to resume his place. The Canadian players were disenchanted by this and somewhat gave the game up.
