Notes
--> Marlborough innings batting adds 4 runs over
--> KJ Pahl retired hurt in the Motueka innings having scored 0 (team had lost 4 wickets)
GB Stretch and OE Burford added 141 for the fifth wicket in the Marlborough innings
Pahl was forced to retire hurt in the Motueka innings after being struck by a delivery from BE Hefford
Unfortunately the scoresheets for this match were extremely poor so it is not certain whether Ogilvie and Cederman's bowling figures should be the other way round. A newspaper source had the bowling figures as Cederman 10, 0, 61, 1 and Ogilvie 9, 1, 45, 1 but Ogilvie is the only one shown as taking a wicket in the scorecard, dismissing Hefford for 2. On the scoresheet Ogilvie is shown as 10, 0, 61, 1 (but the runs off that bowler add to 71) and Cederman as 9, 1, 45, 0 so the latter figures are what is shown in this scorecard.
Marlborough won the Newman Shield
