Notes
--> The first innings of the match was limited to 100 overs; the total overs for both teams first innings was limited to 200 overs
--> A Hill (1) passed 4500 runs in First-Class matches when he reached 36
--> GRJ Roope (2) passed 1000 runs in First-Class matches for the season when he reached 20
--> Younis Ahmed (2) passed 15500 runs in First-Class matches when he reached 16
--> PI Pocock reached 1100 wickets in First-Class matches when taking his 3rd wicket in the Derbyshire second innings
--> A Needham achieved his best innings bowling analysis in County Championship matches in the Derbyshire second innings (previous best was 0-3)
John Edrich completed 100 first-class hundreds in this match. This scorecard agrees with the version published in the Surrey CCC yearbook. It shows that Geoff Howarth was John Edrich's partner when he completed his 100th 100. Some sources have claimed that Graham Roope was Edrich's partner at the time, although it is believed that Roope was actually acting as runner for Howarth. The matter is of interest because Roope was definitely Geoffrey Boycott's partner when Boycott completed his 100th first-class hundred later in the same season.
