The 2013 ECB under 17 girls final, finally took place at Leamington cc On Spring bank Holiday Monday between Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Board and Gloucestershire Cricket Board
With Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket running out winners by 20 runs in a rain affected match.
Losing the toss Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket were put into bat and suffered the early loss of Katie Winterton with the score on 15 in the 5th over, Light drizzle made playing conditions difficult but Georgie Relf and Abbie Watson had pushed the score onto 72 at the ends of the 13th over by which time the rain had increased and the teams were brought off.
Played resumed after early lunch, with each side limited to 25 overs. In the remaining 12 overs Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket added a further 53 runs to end on 125-6 Relf top scoring with 43 and Watson 30 putting on 92 for the 2nd wicket.
At 5 an over in light and at times moderate drizzle it was always going to be a difficult target to reach and so it proved. Two wickets in Emily Jeffersons 1st over, the 6th of the innings put any slim chance of a Gloucester win out of the question and when Opener Naomi Forecast was bowled by Dhruvisa Joshi for 44 in the 16th over with the score on 71 it was game over . From their 25 overs they fell 20 runs short finishing on 105-8 with Joshi taking 3 for 19 from 5 overs.
Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Board Under 17 Girls 50 Partnership; 62 balls 30 mins (2x4s 0x6s); G Relf 15 runs (27); A Watson 10 runs (20)
due to rain match reduced to 25 overs per side.
