Berkshire completed their victory at 4.30 pm on the second day. For the winners, Morres top-scored with 51. In the Berkshire first innings Morres and Croome put on 70 runs for the eighth wicket. For Wiltshire, Radcliffe's 63 included 9 fours. Miller kept wicket for Wiltshire when Smart bowled. R A Williams was making his debut for Berkshire in this match. It was his third Championship team in three years. He had previously played for Buckinghamshire in 1895 and Oxfordshire in 1896.
