Needing 127 runs to win, Wiltshire won by 5 wickets at 4.30 pm on the second day. Wethered's 70 for Berkshire included 1 six and 8 fours. Barker and Cave put on 41 runs for the tenth wicket in the Berkshire second innings. For the winners, Awdry's 67 and Stevens's 51 both contained 8 fours. Cave seriously injured a finger in the Wiltshire first innings. A C M Croome, who had been practising in the nets, took his place on the field and held the substitute catch in the Wiltshire first innings. Radcliffe's 4 catches in the Berkshire second innings equalled the record held by 5 other fieldsmen. His 5 catches in the match were equal best for the season with two others.
