The encounter between the two teams at Trowbridge at the start of the month had been drawn. Gresson's second innings score of 63 not out included 10 fours. For Wiltshire, Awdry scored 65 and Medlicott 54. They had an opening partnership of 112 runs in the visitors' first innings. In the Wiltshire first innings when taking his fourth wicket, Wright took his two hundredth championship wicket.
