Bedfordshire won by 52 runs at 6.50 pm on the second day with 10 minutes to spare. On the first day rain prevented play before lunch and brought play to an early close. Hertfordshire had needed to score 178 runs in their second innings to win. For the winners, Pollitt and Taylor both made 46, which was the top score for the match. Pollitt's 46 contained 5 fours and Taylor's 46 4 fours. The 21 maidens bowled by W F Brown in the Hertfordshire first innings were the joint third highest during the season.
For the losers, Hill with 32 played the highest innings.
