Despite rain preventing play on the first day, this return match was won by Bedfordshire by 36 runs shortly before 6.00 pm on the second day. Reports indicate the pitch was greatly in the favour of the bowlers. The match earlier in the month at Bedford had also been severely affected by the weather and had ended as a draw. For the winners, Wharmby with 10 wickets for 55 runs and Brown with 10 wickets for 57 runs bowled unchanged through both Buckinghamshire innings. It was the only instance during the season. Nash, with 11 wickets for 45 runs for Buckinghamshire, was the third player to take 10 wickets in the match. The match aggregate of 280 runs for a completed match was the third lowest of the season. The run margin of victory was the second closest of the season.
[Missing: Umpires; part fall of wickets.]
