Wiltshire won by ten wickets on the second day. On the first day, the start was delayed until 2.40 pm by a sodden pitch soaked by overnight rain. For the winners, Overton took 11 wickets in the match for 83 runs. Newman scored 60. When he took his third wicket in the Dorset first innings, Smith reached the career milestone of three hundred wickets in championship matches.
