This return match was drawn with Bedfordshire winning on first innings. The game between the two sides at St Albans in July had been won by Bedfordshire. For the visitors, Rice scored 73, Holdstock 71 not out and Brown 61. For Hertfordshire, White scored 90, Golding 73 and Butcher 59 not out. In the Hertfordshire first innings Butcher and Harford added 60 for the eighth wicket and in the second innings Golding and Dumbelton put on 114 for the second wicket. When batting, Wharmby's right hand was hit by a rising ball which split his bowling finger and he took no further part in the match. A C Smith of the Bedford GS team fielded as his substitute. Ten of the Bedfordshire side bowled in the match.
