This return match was drawn with Berkshire winning by just 1 run on first innings. Dorset had won the match between the two sides at Poole in July. For the home team, there were 11 fours in Barrett's 74, and 5 fours in Barker's 69 not out, scored in 4 hours and 20 minutes. In the Berkshire first innings, Barker and Barrett put on 136 runs for the sixth wicket. Peake and Barker added 64 runs for the eighth wicket.
