Yorkshire 2nd XI won by 4 wickets at 1.10 pm on the second day. For the winners, there were 12 fours in Frank's 69 and 8 fours in Wilson's 56 not out. In the Northumberland first innings, Brown took 8 wickets for 49 runs, and in the second innings Booth 7 for 66. For the losers, Skinner took 11 wickets in the match for 145 runs, including 7 for 72 in the Yorkshire 2nd XI first innings. The pitch was described as being fiery and difficult for batsmen. In the Yorkshire second innings, Robinson was struck on the temple by a ball from Skinner and became unconscious. He was carried off the field and regained consciousness in the pavilion.
