Durham won this low-scoring match by 10 wickets at 12.55 pm on the second day. For the winners, Morris took 14 wickets in the match for 67 runs, taking 7 for 33 in the Staffordshire first innings and 7 for 34 in the second. There were 7 fours in Turnbull's 52. For the visitors, Brown carried his bat through the Staffordshire second innings of 2¼ hours scoring 44 not out, one of three instances during the season.
