Surrey 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 54 runs on the second day.. The match between the two sides at The Oval in June had also been won by Surrey 2nd XI. For the winners, Altham scored 132, Blacklidge 77, Jewell 52 and Platt 50. Platt also took 10 wickets in the match for 67 runs, including 8 for 28 in the Berkshire first innings. For the losers, Shoosmith scored 61, Watts 58 and there were 10 fours in Rowe's 52.
