With rain threatening, Bedfordshire won this return match by eight wickets at 5.50 pm on the second day, after Suffolk followed on 151 runs behind on first innings. Bedfordshire had been set a victory target of 73 runs. The match between the two sides at Woodbridge in July had also been won by Bedfordshire. For the winners, there were 14 fours in Holdstock's 110 not out. He was on 80 when the ninth wicket fell. In the Bedfordshire first innings, Holdstock and Orr added 58 runs for the seventh wicket, and Holdstock and Moss 70 for the tenth wicket. Morcom took 10 wickets in the match for 150 runs. For the losers, Lang scored 55 not out, and F H Mustard 51 not out. In the Suffolk second innings, Raynor and Lang put on 52 runs for the seventh wicket. On the first day, the start was delayed by half an hour as three Suffolk players had missed their train, and rain stopped play early at 5.15 pm. In the Suffolk first innings, D Mustard was bowled and the bail carried 70½ yards and was caught by a spectator. The distance was verified during the lunch interval. The first-class record of 68 yards belonged to Mold of Lancashire. A collection for Holdstock yielded £2.2s.0d.
