Northumberland won this return match by 88 runs on the second day. The match between the two sides at Jesmond in June had been won by Yorkshire 2nd XI. For the winners, there were 1 five and 4 fours in Carr's 63. Harrison split his hand when bowling and attempting to catch a return from Carr. The wound required stiches and he took no further part in the match.
