Durham won by 91 runs before lunch on the second day, after Lincolnshire had required 181 runs to win in their second innings. For the winners, there were 4 sixes and 5 fours in Harrison's 67. Morris took 6 wickets for 41 in the Lincolnshire second innings including 3 wickets in 4 balls. For Lincolnshire, Broughton took fourteen wickets in the match for 83 runs, with 7 for 35 in the Durham first innings and 7 for 48 in the second. There was 1 six and 1four in Thompson's 42.
