Rain prevented a start until 3pm on the first day. Glamorgan won with an hour an a half to spare at 5pm on the second day. Riches reached his century in 3 hours, finishing with 12 fours in his 159. He put on 120 for the first wicket with Whittington and 116 for the third wicket with Morris. In Monmouthshire's second innings Maxwell took the wickets of Silverlock, E S Phillips, and Diver in four balls.
