This return match was drawn with Glamorgan winning on the first innings. Overnight rain meant that play did not start until 2.15 pm on the second day. Earlier in the year they had defeated Monmouthshire by an innings. Monmouthshire were set a target of 171 runs to win but were only able to reach 73 without loss before the match ended. For the visitors Riches made the only two half-centuries in the match; 73 with 7 fours in the first innings and an unbeaten 69 in the second. Creber took 5 wickets for 51 runs in Monmouthshire's first innings. Whittington was unable to bat in the second innings or field in Monmouthshire's second innings due to an eye inflammation.
