Surrey won the return match by 8 wickets at 2.45 pm on the second day, despite having been reduced to 13 for 5 in their first innings. They had won on first innings earlier in the season. In Kent's second innings, Jennings scored 68 not out, including ?? fours, the only half-century of the match. Preston took 5 wickets for 51 runs in Surrey's first innings. For the winners, Myers top-scored with 38 whilst Abel took 10 wickets 49 runs in the match, including 6 for 9 in Kent's first innings.
