Hertfordshire won this return match by five wickets on the second day having been set a victory target of 162 runs in two and a half hours.
Hertfordshire had also won the encounter between the two sides in July.
When Suffolk had followed on 112 runs behind on first innings, and had lost six wickets for 157 an early defeat looked probable.
However in the Suffolk second innings Cobbold and Lawrence added 99 runs for the ninth wicket.
For the winners, Etheridge scored 62 and Household 55.
This pair put on 103 runs for the third wicket in the Hertfordshire first innings.
In the Suffolk first innings Burton took 5 wickets for 33 runs and Marsh 5 wickets for 25 runs, and in the second innings Cox took 5 wickets for 44 runs.
For the losers Lawrence scored 62 not out and Bassett 53 in the Suffolk second innings.
On the first day play was interrupted on several occasions by rain,
