This return match was drawn with Norfolk winning comfortably on the first innings against a Bedfordshire side that had been considerably weakened by war duties. Earlier in the year Norfolk had secured an outright win. Bedfordshire were asked to follow on but rain delayed the start of play until 12.15pm on the second day and returned later so that only 24 overs could be bowled in all. For the hosts Thurgar's 59 contained 8 fours and Popham's 117 (an innings of 2 hours 58 minutes) included 9 fours, 6 threes, and 16 twos; together they added 117 for Norfolk's first wicket. For the visitors Newman had the best bowling figures and scored the most runs.
