Once more the South proved too strong for the North. A splendid century by Argentina's foremost batsmen Tony Ferguson, was the highlight of then South's first innings. T. Maitland-Heriot and Douglas Ker bowled well for the North. Frankie Forrester made a dramatic declaration on the second day, which was affected by rain, leaving his side 70 runs in arrears. The South were then dismissed for a paltry 96 in their second innings which left the North to get 165 for victory on the afternoon of the third day. Any hope of victory was dashed by a splendid performance of off-spin bowling by Raphael Villamil who took five wickets for 13 runs. T.Maitland-Heriot returned match figures of 37-13-67-8 but despite this great effort finished on the losing side.
