			Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 1st '3 Series Mobile' Ashes Test match between Australia and England at The Gabba in Brisbane. This is the first of the much anticipated five-match series over the next seven weeks.
			England secured their first Ashes success in 18 years back in 2005, when the home series was won 2-1 but England have not won a series on Australian soil since the hugely successful 1986/87 series, captained by Mike Gatting.
			Team selection has certainly been a talking point, with the Australians sending raw paceman Shaun Tait back to Adelaide a day before the game, while Shane Watson's injury has re-opened the door for Michael Clarke. The home side will choose between Stuart Clark and uncapped Mitchell Johnson for the final place.
			England have already revealed one hand in that wicket-keeper Geraint Jones comes back in place of the unfortunate Chris Read but it will be the choice between Ashley Giles and Monty Panesar that is causing the most interest. Which one of these two will play?
			This will be the 312th time these sides have met, with Australia coming out on top in 126, England 97 and there have been 88 draws. However, the record at Brisbane is heavily in Australia's favour as they have won 9 of the 17 games played here between the sides, with England winning 4 and 4 draws.
			This is the 49th Test match to be played at The Gabba, the home side winning 28 and the visitors just 8.
			The first ever Test match between the sides was the first ever Test match played - at Melbourne in 1877, where Australia succeeded by 45 runs. The first ever Test at The Gabba was in November 1931, when the home side trounced South Africa by an innings and 163 runs.
			The highest individual score for Australia v England is 334 by Donald Bradman at Leeds in 1930, while England's equivalent is the one-time world record 364 by Len Hutton at The Oval in 1938.
			The best bowling performance for Australia in these games is 9-121 by Arthur Mailey in Melbourne in 1920-21 season while the great Jim Laker's outstanding 10-53 is still the best by an Englishman.
			Milestones to look out for during the match: Shane Warne requires 42 runs for 3,000 runs (while he continues to hold the record for the most Test runs without scoring a century), Damien Martyn needs 30 runs for 2,000 in home Tests and Ricky Ponting needs 93 for 5,000, also in home Tests. Shane Warne needs only 4 wickets for 300 on home soil. Ricky Ponting requires just one boundary four to claim 1,000 in Test cricket.
			Brent 'Billy' Bowden from New Zealand and West Indian Steve Bucknor are the on-field umpires while Jeff Crowe, from just across the Tasman Sea is the match referee.
