Media Release - 17 February 2005
Verdict of Disciplinary Committee
The PCB Disciplinary Committee comprising Justice (R) Amir Alam Khan (Chairman), Maqbool Elahi Malik (Member), Abdul Salam Khawar (Member) and Syed Asghar Haider (Secretary) met today and announced the following decision regarding the disciplinary case concerning Shoaib Akhtar.
Begins
"We have heard Mr Shoaib Akhtar at length and have gone through the record placed before us. We are of the considered opinion that this is a case, at the most of indiscipline. It seems that Mr Shoaib Akhtar has taken the code of conduct very lightly and has displayed erratic behaviour. We are also of the considered opinion that he should be reprimanded and fined for this indiscipline and erratic behaviour to the tune of US$ 500/-.
Having fined him, as stated, we expect that in future he will abide by the code of conduct and behave in the best interest of cricket and Pakistan."
